HISTORY OF D-ACADEMY

The Establishment of the institution was the sole idea of Hon. Paulinus Elemike Ejiogu In The Year 2002. Divine Academy Began with Divine Encounter Education Center as an Evening Lesson for the Less Privileged at the Former Nisi Primary School, Abuloma town hall. It was free for all. The main Objective was reading and writing skill.

The Classes were relocated to The founders residence at 19B Jetty Road Abuloma by the third quarter of April 2002.

The evening classes was made morning and evening by parents demand.

As the number increased, the space became smaller, and demand for morning session by parents intensified.

EVENING CLASS TO SCHOOL:

The school began by September 2002 at the sitting room of Mr. P.E. Ejiogu. Teachers were employed, Miss Vivian, Miss Ada Isaac, Miss Ibiye. O. C. Douglas coordinated and Mr. P.E.Ejiougu directed. Mrs. Chika Ejiogu still with the evening session.

Pupils were Oluwatobi Amosa, Ekwitos Ugwu, Comfort Ugwu, Ifeanyi Benjamin, Ufoma Benjamin, Esther Benjamin and Adamu.

The Sitting room was used and partitioned to classes and the room cleaned at the end of every school day.

RELOCATION

By April 2003 the school relocated from 19B Jetty Road to Mr. Promise compound now 5 Akpos Marine Jetty Road Abuloma. Mrs Ruth and Miss Chioma Onuoha,were employed. By July 2004 the school moved to 2 Akpos Marine Jetty to a leased land, which was later acquired by the school in 2006.

THE BEAUTY PEGEANT

This context were held per annum especially at the end of every academic session. The maiden context was 2006, Ebi Lucky as the Divine Queen. Sylvia Emberu 2007, Anah Biabo 2008, Awaji Imam 2009, Bright Etim 2010.

The Secondary section of the school grew bigger and the Orientation Programme was introduced, with the first edition in 2009. The Orientation was used to introduce new ideas into the academic sector and to allow the students also to show case their talents in Arts and Academic Excellence. It was also used as a forum for awarding students for excellence performance and of great academic excellence. The Orientation holds every academic term.

Election of functionaries also began with the first Elected SP, Christian Peter and DSP, Funmilayo Ajulo in 2008. The Functionaries were first appointed, Idawarifa Amos was the first SP of the Institution with the DSP, Christiana Ezeugwu in 2006.

The school property remained in temporary site until 2006 when the negotiation to acquire a property began. By 2009, the property was fully acquired, and by 2013, the erecting of the permanent structure began.

The First First School leaving was in 2007, first Junior Waec 2010, first Senior Waec, 2012.

With the Street to the school tied by the Government, the street is named and numbered with The Divine Academy located at #2 Akpos Marine Jetty Road, Abuloma, Portharcourt, Nigeria.

Extracurricular Activities

The institution started with the nursery and then included the primary one and created a space for primary two thereafter in the 2002s when it started at fully as a school of learning.

There no room for much extra curricular activities, like games and other sporting activities.

In 2006, The School Participated in one Indomie noodle's schools debate held at the cultural centre.

By 2007 The First Graduation of the Primary six and the Transition.

By 2009 There was Children's Day Celebration Activities held at the Ozuboko estate field organized by NAPS.

Cultural Day maiden edition was organized by the Proprietress, Mrs. Elemike Ejiogu Chika In 2012.

And The Exclusive Court Session Of The School Began As A Result of conflict resolution panel since 2009. The Terminal Orientation was integrated into the activities column from 2008.

Games week came to effect in the 2010 and continued to hold in the place of full inter house sports till 2020 when the maiden edition was held at Okuru field. Another in 2022 At Abuloma UBE Field And Again in 2024 April.
